The group features Adelle Clark on piano, Peter Grancis on tenor saxaphone, Sophia Griswold on trombone, Jonathan Nichele on drums, and Connor Wyman on trumpet. All five kids were members of the CMEA Eastern Jazz Band, and formed their own group under the leadership of Richard Wyman of the US Coast Guard Band. Reardon was named a Bostonian of the year by the Boston Globe Magazine in 2012 in celebration of not only her music but her work to use it as a vessel for empowerment. With a voice that is distinctively rich and a contemplative sincerity in her songwriting, Reardon has far more in common with Patty Griffin,
Lucinda Williams, and Tracy Chapman than many of today’s young pop singer/songwriters, boasting a lyrical and melodic weight far beyond her years. Performer magazine describes her music as “brilliantly moving folk/pop with a lyrical depth and soul,” while American Songwriter Magazine refers to numb and blue, the lead single from wayfindings, as “a melancholy little masterpiece.” Her latest album, entitled “Good” (fall 2016 release) was entirely fan-funded by a highly successful kickstarter program. “Good” is a dazzling reflection of a period of immense growth and change, as lush arrangements surround the heartfelt and humble rawness of Hayley’s writing. With a large variety of original songs with everything from the waltz-like “oh bother” to in your face folk/punk songs such as “red and blue”, they are prepared to make any show a good one. Nemes (pronounced knee•miss) has made their mark on the Boston and larger New England music scene by playing everywhere from subway stations to highly-revered venues. Led by duel-frontmen Dave Anthony and Josh Knowles, the band showcases a true metamorphosis of sound, featuring warm, layered harmonies and one-of-a-kind violin shredding Vanyaland describes as "fiddle-action glory." These components are delicately layered across captivating original songs to form what Under the Gun Review calls "some of the most engaging music we've heard," garnering shout-outs from national and international acts such as Alt-J and Nirvana. Released in the Your Heart," has lifted the band from the subway stations of Boston to larger stages around the region, performing as support for acts such as X Ambassadors and Guster. The album was co-produced and mixed by Rick Kwan (Jim James, My Morning Jacket) and funded by a combination of busking, gigging, and crowd-funding. The 11-track record is an exploration of four minds working to create a resonant, cathartic listening experience.
