WELCOME to Nightingale’s Acoustic Cafe for a special night of very talented singer songwriters performing their original music.
Dot Reiser is a singer/songwriter from Westerly, RI with a special passion for topic songwriting. Focusing in on today’s issues, Dot’s songs intend to activate, teach and inspire people of all ages. Steeped in good intentions, she likes to think her songs shine a little light in the darkness. Her first album, “Out of the Driveway”, released in March 2016, features eight original songs and was produced at Dirt Floor Studio in Haddam, CT. Her new EP, “The Paintbox #1” was released in December 2017, and is part of a series of four EPs, produced at Quinn Music in Griswold, CT, with the next three EPs expected to release throughout 2018. All songs are available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, etc. Dot wishes to thank you for coming tonight to listen and support local songwriters, and invites you to visit her webpage at
Jack Hardesty lived and played music in Texas for the most part of fifty years and has been on the coast of CT for the last five. He began writing songs about 17 years ago when he met his lovely wife. He just finished his first CD of original material called “Paper Heart” and performs up and down the shoreline as Texas Jack. His act consists of many of his original songs as well as an assortment of handpicked cover material from old standards and country tunes to some jazzy selections with a little folk and old rock and roll thrown in. He has made appearances on ICRV streaming radio and local public access TV, but loves nothing better than throwing down a few tunes to the always attentive and appreciative audience at The Nightingale Acoustic Cafe. See you there!
Woodsmoke, Will Schramm and Steve Muller, met at an open mic better than 10 years ago. They soon learned they shared common musical tastes and interests and began creating music regularly. They started to hone their craft mostly around campfires, travelling to folk festivals in New York and Texas every summer, and also hosting house concerts with after show jams, and so Woodsmoke was born. Sometimes Will and Steve are joined on stage by Steve's wife Jen, and the music just flows. Influenced heavily by the likes of John Prine, Todd Snider, Neil Young, Townes Van Zant, Slaid Cleaves, songs of real life struggle, heartache, pain, industrial accidents, and humor seem to be a theme :) Thank you for listening, we hope you enjoy our music.
Refreshments are being sold and donations accepted as all proceeds will benefit The MusicNow Foundation, Inc., a 501c(3) non-profit organization run by Gail and Dan Stevens whose mission is to foster and promote music to youth of all ages and ability.
