Maple & Ivory @ LIVE MUSIC at The Bee

Maple & Ivory are Bil Groth (keyboard) and Dana Takaki (violin). The duo plays a broad mix of music including swing, jazz, bluegrass and classical.  Their instrumental selections include favorites from the golden age of American popular song (As Time Goes By, Summertime, When You Wish Upon a Star), Jazz (Minor Swing, Satin Doll, Take 5), Bluegrass (Ashoken Farewell, Arkansas Traveler) and Classical upon request (Pacobel’s Cannon in D, Schubert’s Ave Maria). Maple & Ivory’s music is relaxing background music for diners, interesting to fans of structured improvisation and uplifting to parents and grandparents who remember the words to songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland. Bil and Dana also play with the New London based Country Rock Band The Rivergods so they might throw in an instrumental version of Buddha on the Road.
